Nice photo. Thanks for sharing. Based off the plateau like mountain on the left side of the image, my guess would be this is in Oroville, CA.

If I had to guess, the coordinates are most likely: 39.479227,-121.555142 My induction is based purely on the details in the scene. The location is right at the southern end of the old Western Pacific yard and roundhouse facility. The matching details are the three track road crossing, the tower that stands behind the locomotive, the two cables coming from the tower that are placed at different heights as can been seen in street view from the cul de sac on Baggett Marysville Rd., Table Mountain being clearly visible in the background, the switch on the far right track leading to the a fourth track hidden behind the locomotive, the spacing between the tracks (the left track is slightly farther away from the middle track than the third track is), and the spare rails lying next to the tracks that remarkably seem to still be laying next to the tracks today as they were in this picture. The only non-matching detail is the switch that goes from the third track to the middle track. This could of course, been removed at some point after the picture for whatever reason.
