I can't state that the Clinchfield leased these more than once. But I can state that several years after this photo was shot, there were several sets of D.M. & I R power that were in Paducah, Kentucky being leased by the Illinois Central during the winter months as above. One must remember that back in the seventies there were no large leasing companies with many units on hand. Leasers like Precision could provide replacements if three or four units were damaged in a wreck, but not in the numbers that D.M. & I R could provide to a power short railroad.
