Along here P.E. Heron had his pistol out and we were in the end of the lead big red shoving 20 big reds into Calvin. Pe's pistol went off and shattered against the corner and hit me in the leg and stomach. Of course we were taken out of service, run off. On the way over to the dispatcher's office a call came in and we were placed back into service because" Vida Blue" had tore up the track and derailed 10 cars at almost the same place. Sad but true and I still have lead in my right leg to prove it.
