Similar situation for LIRR. LI service to Grand Central is "in the works" but STILL a few years from ACTUALLY BEGINNING.

No problem. They stopped using Grand Central when they finished construction of the Empire Connection which allowed them to consolidate all traffic into Penn Station whereas before, certain services such as the Lake Shore Ltd and Empire service were only possible from Grand Central.

The word "awesome" is one of the most tediously overused word in the English language. Yet even in it's proper contact it does scant justice to this most staggeringly beautiful railway station. I've had the good fortune to visit once and spent a wonderful afternoon, just taking it all in and imagining what it must have been like during the Golden Age of rail. Great B&W pic.
