It just hit me that the nose and front of the lead F unit is particularly clean. Upon reading the caption again, it would appear that the shop people, hostler or train crew cleaned it off or oiled it for the last run. it is still one of the stellar shots from the Donald Haskel Collection. No matter how many times it gets repainted it will never look more real than in appears in this shot. Remember the "Valvetine Rabbit and the Skin Horse."
