Lovely view of Ribblehead - PCA from me

Beautiful and majestic! Another PC vote coming your way.

All the elements presented in this capture, from the long, silhouetted, viaduct, the low-lying locomotive exhaust, extending past the length of the train, the beautiful muted colors of the sky, with clouds lending texture, and that sunset glowing through the coach windows, makes it seem to have been planned by an artist for a painting, rather than the result of a digital photograph. Geat job, Nigel!

Magnificent!

Absolutely stunning photo, Nigel!

I rarely look at foreign shots and know little about railways across the pond...but this...this is simply magnificent. One of the best I've ever seen on here. More work of art than train photo. Well done sir...well done!

Wow, stunning image, PCA from me!

Ditto to all the above Nigel, simply superb!

Stunning! PCA voted!

Ah, so you were one of the lucky ones, Nige. Did you know it was going to work over the viaduct? I'm kind of envious, though conditions at Birkett made for an interesting shot too.

Thanks for all your comments everyone.
Richard - it was an educated guess! I've seen photos of stuff working across in the past, so hoped it would happen again. I'm not sure if anyone had a word with the crew but they just plodded across nicely.

That's what you call "nailing a shot"

I love the way you have caught the sunlight coming right through the coach windows
