In late March of 2010, a friend and I were waiting at Martinez, CA for The Reno Fun Train, which would follow the eastbound California Zephyr into the Amtrak station. The Zephyr had the 199 on the point, and it was in exactly this condition, with the "bondo"-filled gash in the nose and the mismatched blue paint on the lower nose panel. It's incredible to discover that in 21 months, this locomotive has not had that simple cosmetic nose job completed! thanks for the reminder Bob.

I've grown up coming to this station in my childhood to watch trains with my father. Now that I'm in college, this is where I disembark every few months to see my family again. It's sad to see it go but the station is a old and ugly -- it's a perfect example of the typical 1960s shacks that were built as poor excuses for train stations lacking any aesthetic appeal that have since become rundown and decrepit. This is what the new station will look like by the way: http://media.myfoxorlando.com/photogalleries/061311-winter-park-sunrail/1/imgLg/_000.jpg
