Reminds me of the way freights that used to cover Southern's Columbia-Greenville line, which ran through Greenwood, SC, when I lived there in the mid-1970s. They were a bit longer, but that line is now history.

Ah, David ! Very nice photo and a great memory. There is a whistle-post in my backyard that looks a lot like something that "could've" been salvaged from that line (actually, the kudzu that lined this route) after the rails were ripped out.
