Joe, maybe I saw that one go by my apartment at 75th & I-35 a few minutes later. Wished I'd been taking photos back then. Would love to see more of your KC stuff. I worked up the hill from the Katy yard office and ate at Waids often, across SW Blvd. from there.

Katy's 300s are GP38s, (note the two radiator cooling fans,) while the GP40s, like the rear unit, are in the 100-series, with three cooling fans for the more powerful, turbocharged version of the 16-cylinder engine.
