Is that an interurban in the background? As far as I know, there weren't any in the area.

Looks like a Long Island Rail Road or Pennsylvania Railroad MP-54 multiple unit commuter coach. The Piedmont & Northern acquired some cars from the Long Island, but I am not familiar with any on the D&S.
