What's great about this shot, Dave, is that the water level in the Sacandaga River is high. Many times in the summer months the water is very low — just a trickle, in fact — when the morning train comes south. The two dams upstream control the flow very precisely. It's interesting to stand at this spot (on the river banks, of course!) when they open the dam nearest to the bridge — the levels can change quite suddenly.
