Amazing to me how little known and photographed this bridge is on the ex-GN Surrey Cutoff between Fargo and Minot. Very nice shot.

Thanks, Loren. I wish it were better documented, but it's not too surprising, considering this is probably one of the most isolated places I've ever been railfanning. You won't just stumble onto this place. It's a 40 mile drive from the interstate, the last 10 miles are all gravel with several turns among nearly identical gravel roads, ending at a little used lake access point. That will just get you to the shadowy north side of the bridge. You have to hike to the south side to get decent light. I've made the trip just twice, spending a total of approximately 12 hours here. In that time, apart from the train crews and the friends that came with me, I've seen five other people (3 hunters on the west bank, 2 four wheelers on the east bank, all on this last trip).
