Incredible. The sky, the plume, everything. A work of art. Definitely PCA material.

Bryan, it would appear that you've hit one out of the ole ballpark with this one. Nice, real nice !!!

Another re-creation of those wonderful Association of American Railroads publicity shots from the post-war period. It is simply wonderful.

Amtrak P42 120 was the trailing unit in President Obama's inauguration train, that ran from Philadelphia PA to Washington, DC, and was selected because its number indicated the January 20th date of that ceremony. The lead unit of the train was P42 44, and its number noted that Barack Obama was the 44th President of the United States. Nice touch, Amtrak.

Just, WOW! Phenomenal texture. See you on the both sides of the page soon enough!

I must agree with all of the above, I do remember as a youngster many years ago when most railfan material and photos were in black and white. This takes me back, but this is one of the best I've ever seen. Lots of hard work in this one, with great results.

I must say, I am quite disappointed the Screener's missed this as a "Screener's Choice", must have been near the end of shift or something, absolutely stunning contrasting photo, stunning indeed!

I like the photo quite a bit except the sky, looks very "HDR'ish"

Really sharp looking photo, BP. Now that I've been able to look at it on the computer, it's really dramatic and certainly worthy of a pending PCA. Congratulations on another "stunner" from Owosso. ;)

Awesome shot, it's a train well painted in a RailPictures...

Nothing like a bit of unsharp mask to pop the plume, eh? Gorgeous shot, it's got my PCA vote for the week.

An excellent image, and worthy of the POTW and upcoming PCA awards.

Breath-taking pic! It depicts the majesty of steam, the beauty of nature and the art of God's hand! It surely deserves recognition as a great photo with an award!!

Absolutely beautiful, Bryan! PCA from me!

Nice photo. If I could say one thing: looks like you went a bit overboard with contrast enhancement.

I would like to see this in color just to satisfy my curiosity.

Another great example of why the age-old argument of b & w is valid as the more powerful medium of awe than color. Very, very inspiring!
