This is a 70-ton that the L&N's Louisville Shps re-engined with an Alco prime mover. Note the higher hood, (a normal 70-ton has room for small windows on the cab face over the hood,) and the far forward position of the exhaust stack. Also, are these the smallest angled number indicators ever applied to a hood unit?
