The two couplers on this locomotive are really fascinating. I guess they must be for the low-level cars to the left of the engine.

I grew up in Roebling NJ while Roebling Steel was in full operation back in the 60's. This was back in the day when plant personell came from their guard shack with "STOP" signs on posts and stood in the roadway stopping traffic on Hornberger Avenue. Roebling Steel had several GE 44-Tonners working along with what appeared to me as an old Fairbanks Morse locomotive (which is still sitting where it stopped the day the plant closed)..albeit rusted it also appears to be restorable. The 2 couplers of each locomotive facilitated movement of standard rr cars, along with "home made" cars designed by the mill to haul ingots, wire spools, racks and even a home-made snowplow. The smaller cars used standard guage tracks throughout the mill.
