Love the flowing lines in this one David.....the fields, the road, the striping, the track, and of course the grain train itself. It all comes together really well. Can't decide if your luck with the automobile enhanced the perspective, but it certainly did not detract from it.

Signature Honan photography. Sweet! A perfectly composed photograph.

I love the composition here, Dave - the freshly paved road, the golden fields, and the subtle tones in the sky really make the shot. One of these days I'll make it out there...

All the elements come together for a beautiful and classic view of eastern Washington railroading! Well done and PCA from me.

David, One of the most compelling compositions I have seen on this website. A plus that it is in the Palouse! Thanks for sharing.

I'm kind of wondering what's with the tank cars towards the rear of the train, you don't normally see anything but grain cars on the "Big Trains" as the W&I calls them. Awesome shot regardless!

The combination of the pristine condition of the road and the angle make this look like an artist's rendering.

Great lines. They really move your eyes through the composition. Excellent work, David.

M.F., Stan had a few loads bound for Oakesdale and took advantage of the grain shuttle to bring them down there.

Congrats on the POTW in lieu of an SC - all that's left is the immanent PC that was a sure thing from the very start.

Hey David, Top notch as always. I'm always intrigued by photos with multiple modes of transportation, and this one's got a really nice composition that just seems to make the photo flow. Rick N

Dave... You never stop "WOWing" us and treating our eyes to some very fine images! I totally agree with all the comments above and want to say "congrats" on POTW! Oh, I'm going to throw in another PC vote even though I'm confident you won't need it. All around excellent job on this photo and I can't wait to see how you're going to "WOW" us next!! PS: Can I forward a copy of your photo to INDOT to remind them how a real road should look? ;-)
