These cars were the best of a poor group of high speed lightweight trains a half century ago. These babies were "bad fast", they rode as well as any RDC and were popular with crews that liked the added safety of the nose in front of them. They understood why NH didn't buy any more "Hot Rods", but their wishes never died.
