Joe, thanks for posting these. I'll guess Springfield, IL. A southbound, looks to be the Limited. Also, building on the right may be seen in the distance of this photo of a southbound

According to my GM&O expert this is train is no 1 the Limited at Springfield IL from late 1967 to early 1968.

Judging by the look of the buildings and the phone number on the sign behind it (552-0200) it's probably Springfield, IL

This locomotive is an EMD F-3a. Many of these units were re-built at the I.C. Paducah, Ky. shops, and ran many more years in commuter service in the north east.
