It looks like you are standing on what is currently Merhring Way. It is wild to think that there were tracks like that on both sides of that viaduct.

That is the bridge that lifted the C&O out of the Mill Creek Valley on the way up Cheviot Hill. The photographer is standing along the Southern's West Lead of Gest Street Yard.
