Gorgeous! This locomotive is prominently featured in the video "U-Boat Survivors" -- a must-see for any GE fan.

Don't forget the "F" before the fed man comes around...

Yes, there are several minor markings that need to be done.

Wow! It looks amazing! It really was in desperate need of a new coat of paint. Very nice photo Marty!

Although not quite the classic scheme that the black widow was, SP's Lark Gay and Scarlet always looked great when freshly applied, and I think the gray trucks and underframe make it work so well. The pity is, I don't think the unit is operational.

The unit runs well. It never had the black widow scheme so painting that way would be historically incorrect.

Sorry Marty, I didn't intend to imply the U25Bs were ever painted in the black widow scheme, just that the scheme on F's, GP's and SD9's was
considered a classic when replaced by this one, that was reviled by fans initially. But it has withstood the test of time pretty well. I am glad to hear the 3100 is indeed operable, because when I saw it at the museum many years ago, it looked pretty shot. Thanks for the nice roster photo!
