Nice looking piece of NYC machinery! Since all of the NYC steam locomotives are in musuems, it sure would be great if the 3001 was a candidate for restoration.

Thank you for the comments. 3001 is not under steam, so for the photo session we placed a fan and fog machines in her smoke box to make her appear as though she was "alive". Later on we had another fog machine under the locomotive and fusees under the firebox for some "firebox flicker". We also posed actors in era appropriate attire next to and on the engine for a few good shots. I was an actor for many of the scenes, so I don't have any pictures of those.

It's obvious to see that it's not under steam. Just look at all the snow on the boiler and especially on the smoke box. The snow pile and rusty wheels also give it away, but still, it is a nice picture.
