Are we positive about the date of this photo? Judging by the lack of jackets and no visible steam coming from the locomotive. I find it hard to believe it is December in Chicago. Although it was in the high 50's on 12/31/10, Everyone was still sporting a jacket. As the saying goes, if you do not like Chicago weather, wait 5 minutes.

The slides that were used for the CB&Q series were not dated, and we made a number of trips to Clyde in 1955. Having grown up in Chicago, I agree that it would be unlikely that it would be shirtsleeve weather in December, so they were probably taken earlier in the year although I cannot determine when. Good catch!
