The car in the center that caught the photographer's attention here, is an ex-U. S. Army Hospital Car, built by St. Louis Car Co. in 1952 and deployed by Amtrak as a Baggage Dormitory. To the right is an ex-Santa Fe Budd-built baggage, while at the left, an ex-New York Central, 2900-series, Budd coach. The Budd duplex sleeper behind is a former Baltimore & Ohio, 16-duplex roomette, four double bedroom sleeper (bird named series like Robin, Cardinal, etc.,) while its mate is an ex-NYC 22-roomette sleeper, converted by that road into a Slumbercoach-like configuration, but with only 16 single rooms and ten doubles.
