An amazing capture, Tim. Nice of you to thank Dale - I may one day have to thank you both should I make it there. Assuming trains still run the branch. Love the captured arch!

What a great shot! Spectacular scenery! Do you know if that section of track is easy to wash out in the rainy season? It looks like it is built in an old river bed.

Awesome photograph, illustrating the vastness of the west. Sorry about the sprained ankle, but I can see the rsults of your effort were well worth the pain. Perspective, lighting and composition are just perfect! In the old days, the three quarter wedge shots were preferred, and they have their place for train watchers and people, including myself, who like to see the details in locomotives. However, photos such as this also have their place, showing the whole picture of railroading and the country that railroads traversed. A photo such as this is beautiful, with or without a train. The train adds the frosting to the cake. This would earn a PCA from me, but they are currently all taken. Favorite Photo for me. Thank you for sharing!

Spectacular. Only shot that canyon once with a train and did the arch shot from the other side of the canyon...I think I like your angle better though it's hard to take a bad shot in a place so magnificent.
