The 203 was not one of the Reader engines. It was built by Baldwin in 1925 for the Washington & Lincolnton, a shortline railroad that ran out of Lincolnton, Georgia. The consolidation only worked for the W&L for 9 years and ended up at Brimingham Rail & Locomotive Company, a dealer in 1934. She was quickly sold to the Rockton & Rion RY in South Carolina where for some reason, she was not used very much and ended up stored for years in their stone enginehouse. When the R&R finally dieselized in the mid-70's by retiring their ex-Woodward Iron 2-8-2's and 0-4-0T's that were used in the quarries, the 203 was sold and started its career as a tourist railroad engine. This engine now resides at the Three Rivers Rambler in Knoxville, TN. She pulls excursions for them every so often.
