Beautiful train and fun to ride on (I did so with my then-small children in the late 90s).
This also is a working railroad, and a scenic one at that. It's a former Missouri Pacific route from Kansas City south through Lamar, Carthage, Aurora, Crane and Branson, Missouri that (kind of surprisingly) skirts most of the county seats in the Arkansas counties it passes through until hitting the UP/former "MOP" St.Louis - Little Rock main line near Newport, AR. Unit coal and grain trains, some with multiple DPUs, ply this line. This branch also has tunnels at Reed Springs, Missouri as well as Omaha/Cricket and Cotter in Arkansas. Glad to see it getting so much use in such interesting ways.

It's Arkansas and Missouri Railroad lines. Depending on the schedule at the time of the day it can go either north or south depending on the freight traffic. The GP30 is normally hidden out of sight and you only see the FPH9 sitting at the station when you get on.
