Actually, they called those "SF30C's" - they were U36C rebuilds downrated to 3,000 HP, and they didn't end up rebuilding the whole fleet of U36C's that originally numbered 100 units.

Yup, a SF30C. One of the few rebuild programs for the originl U-Boats. And they did 70 of the original 100 unit fleet. I’m not sure why that many, I’ve speculated that the 70 they rebuilt were purchased and the other 30 leased, but I don’t know that.
