My, my only passengers that were railfans really liked these beasts. They had a (****)load of problems from excess fuel consumption, fuel leaks, poor ride quality and turbine failures. But, try riding a train where you can ride along and legally be right behind the engineer, and see what he/she could see, and at no extra fare. There are some RDCs still out there, but most of their operators want you to remain back in the seating area of the car.
