Great googly moogly! That's a cool shot, Tom. That's one I missed but never had a chance to shoot. I'm more impressed with all the PC passenger cars (over the G's) in the background having never seen any. The scene looks somewhat dark and even pessimistic with all that black livery vrs the more colorful PRR and even Amtrak which was present prior and post. Keep 'em coming, please!

Since this picture was taken a few months before the launch of Amtrak, I suppose PC was getting its dining cars in order for transfer to the new company. There are two twin-unit diners and two single cars, all slab-sided cars by Budd, on the track behnd the Baldwin.

With Amtrak's takeover just months away, it looks like PC is getting those slab-sided Budd diners, (two each of single and twin-unit varieties, behind the Baldwin,) ready for the new entity. The future for GG-1 4935 is bright as well, it will be chosen for restoration to Pennsy pinstripes by Amtrak.

Ah the good old days. Today you'd have a police car rolling up on you and free airconditioning provided by the helicopter over your head. Happened to me in Tuscon on a public sidewalk.

Actually, Ken, I was there a few years back and all I ran into was a cop on a bicycle. He couldn't figure out why I would want to take pics at that location but let me shoot,. These days, at that location, the only thing one needs to be concerned with is having the parking stub to prove you are OK to be standing on the property.

This a great shot. The more I look the more things I see. Anybody notice the fourth GG1 on the passenger train in the upper right hand side? She is somewhat obscured coupled to three pasenger cars.
