Some of my best chases and memories at Steamtown were being around this big engine. I along with others will truly miss her, and like you said- it's like saying goodbye to an old friend. The dark clouds really set the mood for this one too; great composition Dennis.

I recall how lonely this pacific looked up in Steamtown, USA, Vermont. I took videos riding by it showing it sitting off by itself in 1982. It was going to be F. Nelson Blount's next big project but he died too soon. It took 12 more years to get 2317 fired up but it really never was a big hit in Vermont.
