Cool photo, Dennis! I find it hard to believe that in 27 years most of the photos on RP will look equally dated. Wish I caught a G in action.

Nothing says '70's like a polyester suit!

Terrific image, pulled straight out of my memories too. I was spending a lot of time down there about five years earlier (and shooting most of it on 5247 too).

It looks as though the crossing tender won't have their job for too much longer. It appears those manual crossing gates are about to be upgraded to more modern ones.

With the manual gates and the GG1, this shot looks a heck of alot older than 1983. Great shot Dennis!

Classic picture. A GG-1...a guy in a blue polyester suit...and another guy with some really bad red pants. Wish the GG-1's were still around. Glad the bad clothes are behind us!

Ah, so this is what the Northeast railroad scene looked like when I was one and a half years old. Thanks for sharing this view back in time, Dennis!

This is the location where I went for my "100ft ride" on a GG-1 when I was about 8 years old. The engineer was running the GG-1 to the engine yard and stopped to let me an my father up. We did not have the camera that day and missed the photo but I will always have that memory!

Love the suit. I think I have seen a picture with Charles wearing something similar in it - opps, did I say that out loud? Got to love the early 80's!
