Steven... This is a very nice shot of three old (but very faithful!) EMD workhorses. Growing up in Ann Arbor, my first memories of these former Ann Arbor GP35s are still very vivid in my mind during the mid 60s. They were almost new then and wore the DT&I inspired orange and very large "ANN ARBOR" billboard lettering and compass heralds. Throughout my teens years and early adulthood, I was privileged to ride (and in a few cases operate) every one of the ten GP35s the Ann Arbor owned. I have to confess it makes me blue to learn they may soon be replaced, but nothing lasts forever. In fact, I am amazed that seven of the ten are still working 46 years after they left LaGrange! From the GLC's point of view, the GP38s are a wise choice and will require less maintenance (no turbochargers) and will fit in well with their needs. Thanks for sharing your fine photo and the fond memories it sparked as well.
