Actually the 757 escaped the torch and survives at the PA RR Museum at Strasburg, PA. Great shot though!

Just 58 days before, on July 2nd, 1958, No. 746 (an S-2 Berk) took the last Nickel Plate steam locomotive mainline freight from Bellevue to Conneaut OH.

This is an unbelievable shot. Impossible to accurately recreate, no dash 9's, no widebody of any sort, just three examples of the classiest looking steam engine's ever produced. This is one of the best shots on this entire website to me, there's no manufactured nostalgia here at all and that's simply amazing.

Not sure which I'm more in awe of, the cars or the engines. Excellent shot!

Awesome shot! Perhaps one day in the near future we will have 3 berks up and running.

This is a great historic shot. The Berks looked good with twin headlights.
