This loco now rests at the Lake Shore Railway Historical Society in North East, PA (near Erie).

Those girls were noteworthy for their very erratic performance. Their reliability was largely abstract by the '70's. When they were in the mood, they were very captivating to listen to and watch.

Well worth the effort to record this piece of rare rail history. The MILW boxcar is not bad either, although in 1978 I am sure it was not even a second thought.

Tom, would you believe this same unit was in Framingham, Massachusetts soon after WAG gave up operating. I took a shot of it in poor light conditions with a telephone pole in front. My friend Ken and I did not know who the manufacturer was. I wrote on the slide that it was a Whitcomb. So you took an extra six hour trip just I could find out that my slide is maked wrong. Tom this is great.
