Very nice Scott! Ombetsu is a known photo spot for Japanese railfans but I've never seen such dramatic dusk shot.

To be fair, my inspiration for that photo came from a similar twilight image by Japanese photographer Banshou Katsuhichi on p. 16-17 of "KI OKU," published by MG Books in 2006. I also returned in June with the hopes of camping there and getting sunny morning photos of the Marimo and the DD51-hauled freight trains, but a thick fog rolled in off the Pacific and completed obliterated the view.
