The Union Pacific offered mixed train passenger service from the Brigham City depot to Malad City ID in 1963-64! The caboose had a side door for picking up cargo at whistle stops en route. What an adventure for high school aged rail fans in those times. I guess that a parody of Reba and George Jones' song would be that "we were rail fans before railfans were cool!".
