Nice pic, Bro! This is certainly a pretty paint scheme. Was this a rail fan special? Looks like a long train. Was it stopped when you took the photo? I notice one flag on the front is perpendicular to the airflow of the train's travel and no big smoke from the stack. Also, it looks like the corn is having a bad year in the field behind. Altogether, an excellent effort. Is this a new scanner?

Thanks for your kind comments, Bro! This train was assembled by the Chessie System to celebrate the 150 year anniversary of the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad and toured the system in 1977 and part of '78. Anyone who had the money (and was lucky enough to find a ticket) could ride! I recall the special was stopped and waiting for a favorable signal at Vickers when I took this photo, which explains the mis-matched "Extra Train" white flags and the lack of exhaust from the stack. Once the signal popped in at Vickers, the 2101 put on a good sound and smoke show, but it was already by me :-( My location for this photo was a trade-off; get this photo without any people or stay close to Wales Road and contend with gobs of people all over the place! Of course, my hope was to have a good show without any people, but things don't always go as planned. As far as the corn looking bad, I really don't recall how the farmers did that year. Might be nothing more than a wet spring delayed planting and it was a little behind...
