Tilt ! If they are very lucky they might be able to drag it back to the crossing and pick it with a crane. If not so lucky then the Caterpillar side boom crawlers will make quite a mess here.

Usually the engine or a loaded car has enough weight to break the ice at a crossing.

Ice is amazing. If it is dense enough or a flange rail at the crossing is filled with solid ice the flange on the wheel will just climb right up no matter how much weight is involved.

Where was the track inspection team. I know small railroad cut back, but how much would it have cost NLR if she had tipped over.

This is good stuff Mark. Amazing that NLR 1411 didn't end up in the ditch there, that would have really crippled things!
