Excellent composition and execution, especially considering the lighting.

Wow.. great shot. Is it just me or does anyone else wonder how a train would get up that grade?
|
Very nicely captured!

This is a very cool shot! Excellent composition and execution.

Hope this little GP38 is familiar with the story of the 'little engine that could'....the wet rails sure look challenging. Nicely composed photo and interesting perspective.

Excellent, great idea!

Great Shot! Very nice Jan.

Great shot of the Yadkin Local. One little correction though its actually in Gold Hill. Richfield is a few miles south.

It's pretty neat, except for that lens flare, you might have wanted to clone that out.
|
Very Nice... It goes to show that you don't need a beautiful sunny day to take a GREAT rail photo. Good work.
|
Who says it has to be sunny and 70 to have a pic accepted here

Nice shot, but that lens flare should have been an obvious rejection point... If you clone it out though I see no problem with this awesome shot!

Stunning use of many photographic elements. I really enjoy the tracks going from the foreground to the locomotive- it leads the eye through the whole photo. Who says you need a beautiful cloudless day to get a POTW?
|
I'm very astounded, folks! Thank you very much for the kind words, comments and the PotW!
|
Great depth!

That is just fantastic. I really like the overall surroundings and composure of the shot in many ways.. Ever so more the angle of the hill with the train approaching. Great Job, and a perfect fit for the POTW.
|
Really like the feel of the mood in this shot.
|
Perspective makes this hill seem a lot shorter and steeper than I am sure it is. I have taken a few shots with a similar perspective and its a shot that looks like its an impossible climb. The rain and even the light flares give this photo an interesting and almost gloomy mood. I like it. Post more like this.

Awesome! It reminds me of an impressionistic painting only with the emphasis on the moody, rainy day and the shimmering of the headlight / ditch lights on the rails.
