If you were standing on the road, this would have been a very loud experience ! If you were pacing the train in a vehicle then you might have felt safer, either way it's a very unique photo. Thanks for both the posting and your remarks on your experience.

Great shot Walter, I like your composition. I had a similar experience in Brush Tunnel and like you say, it was a bit scary.

It's definitely something every steam fan should experience one. I rode through Brush Tunnel in a gondola on a Lerro charter a few years ago, and it was incredible. Of course, by the time we came out the west side, we were pretty much black.

Nice photo! Most tunnel photos are from the outside looking in. It's the rare ones like this that let us see 'what goes on' in the tunnel. Good job.
