This is a great catch, as I think that 9002 is RJ Corman's only high hood GP-9. It's a good thing that you were out that day. If you got tickets, then I hope that you enjoyed the meal and the ride. I used to help a former Dinner Train employee from time to time. He would have me go to the shop and sign a release, then I would climb in the leading FP-7 and wait for the engineer. When the train started we would roll along until my friend, who served as the conductor and brakeman, had time to come through the kitchen car. There he would pick up a large sack and a jug. He then he would come through the observation car (used as an overflow car) and through the FP-7s. When he entered the cab he would pass out Prime Rib sandwiches and pour us large cups of ice tea. These were the only cab rides that I ever had that provided this wonderful service ! I dearly miss my friend as he has had his Last Call.
