Another fine example of WC's customer service. These trains probably cost them a fortune, but they did it to please a customer. CN would never do this.

Great photo, Chuck, and thanks for your detailed remarks about how these special moves operated! It seems like it would have made more sense (and been a much less circuituous route!) to run the ore down to Escanaba on the old C&NW, but then, that would have involved another railroad and I suppose WC wanted to keep the routing all WC to Chicago? Anyway, it's pretty neat to see an former ATSF F45 running on the old DSS&A out of Marquette!
