Both railroads were hard working. D&RGW units could get just as dirty as any SP, or as I like to say. Like I always said about the SP/D&RGW...If the engine is clean it's not doing it's job corretly.

I'll take both Tunnel Motors, but have the Espee one in the SP Speed Lettering.

This is the first time I have ever seen an Espee unit with it's full light package intact and a "gumball machine" beacon on the roof of the cab! And, that this unit made it to '94 with that many lights is pretty rare. I've seen more than a few Rio Grande units that were able to keep all of their lights including classification, oscillating headlight, beacon, ditchlights, and standard headlight up until the 2000's. I miss the old school rolling light shows.
