Oh that's so nice. Hands down the best GEVO paint scheme so far, bets BNSF by a long shot. Be nice to see her paired with a sister engine!

Somewhat mild statement of a 'heritage' unit but I like it.

Thats a stunning paint job

What a Beautiful engine! The best thing about it is unlike the UP heritage, there isn't a sign of IAIS except the ID.

I always had a soft spot for the 'ock Island! :-)

It's nice to see that some railroads appreciate their heritage. The designers back then really cared about the appearance of their equipment and understood the concept of a positive public image. I hope we see more railroads taking the time and money to do this.

I'm too young to have seen the Rock Island, but I'm sure if they were still around today their livery would have looked somewhat similar to this one for the Iowa Interstate. Great Shot!

I hope BNSF, NS, CN, CP & CSX jump on the UP & IAIS band wagon and do Heritage units.

I agree it would be fun to see other roads doing heritage paint schemes, though I'm not sure they'd be all that interesting for NS. Southern Green would be nice, but N&W and Conrail weren't all that interesting... Unless they do something like the CR SD-80MAC scheme.

Beautiful! It sure was worth the wait. I wonder if this will lead to something more as Iowa Interstate now owns the Rock Island name and herald trade mark.
