I agree as to liking the GP-9 for power, especially since it has a new cab and nose. Modeling kit bashers note, this would be an easy one to do. As they say there is a prototype for just about everything. Give the GTW shops extra points for recycling the old GP-9 rather than making razor blades out of her ! Oh and by the way this would be a pike size train, only nine cars and all of them available in model size. Thanks for the great posting Richard.

Very nice... solid sets powered GTW intermodals, racks & freights as well as switching chores in the mid-90's. However, I doubt the crew was liking the unit very much. From conversations with multiple Trunk crews, they always complained that the units were extremely drafty and cold in the winter time. The theory was that the -2 cab just didn't fit right on a GP9 frame, but whatever the reason I hope the crew had multiple rolls of duct tape!
