Dumb question: What is the reasoning with the tank cars?

Re above post..They are shipper owned or leased tank cars that are currently not required and are stored..Storage charges for private line cars are a good revenue stream for many short line railroads

Kalamalka - in native language it means lake of may colors Man, I wish there were more pictures of this scenic spur line...... And if only there were a passenger service - a Budd car would be nice!
