CP trains 401 and 407 were near Sudbury when this washout occurred near Schreiber. Because of a lack of available crews and also the need to get 6 axle power off the trains due to the bridge restrictions at Sault Ste. Marie the trains were combined at Sudbury. The routing was CPR, Sudbuy-Sault Ste. Marie, then WC, Sault Ste. Marie-Neenah-Minneapolis, then Soo Line Minneapolis-Portal. These trains never were on E&LS trackage.
