Great looking loco, great story too. I hope to see plenty of pictures of the ski train on RP.

Excellent shot! I never knew that the San Luis & Rio Grande had SD9043MAC's.

What wonderful news this is! Even if it's only for a year, at least the ski train is back. Excellent paint scheme, and I can't wait for the first series on photo's to appear on RP.net. I wonder if the carriages will be painted the same colour. My thanks to you Chris for the news, and also thanks to UP and Amtrak for allowingthe ski train to return.

Hmmm! So who gets the blame for this one? I'm thinking maybe Amtrak, but then again one could blame Philip Anshutz for getting rid of the Ski-Train in the first place. Definitely a controversial debate, what a shame, they had neat motive power and were so close! Wow, what a sad ordeal!

I can't blame Anshutz for selling the Ski Train as it was steadlily losing money for some time, but that combined with the economic collapse, it's a decision I think most people would've made.
