This takes me back. I worked as a car host in one of the first class cars of this excursion. Originally we were supposed to be pulled by Frisco steam locomotive 1522 - it had a mechanical issue on the positioning run, SOO Line then stepped in to provide motive power.

1522 made it to LeClaire,IA. but because of mechanical issues was towed back to St.Louis.
