The classic clean lines of a 47 vs. that... hideous. Just wait. You will all be looking at them with as much enthusiasm as you would a 66 in a few years.

Nice catch Mike. I don't care what anybody says, these locos are starting to grow on me. They kind of look like a Class 58 on steroids.

I've heard these referred to as 'Predators', 'Fuglies', and 'Bettys' (as in Ugly Betty), but I don't care. They sound great - much better than a Class 66 when under full power - not quite as loud as a good old U-boat, but far better than anything GM can muster, and I don't think Freightliner care about their looks - they have a 3,700hp freight hauling monster on their hands. I think this is the tip of the iceberg, and EMD should be a little worried about their place in the UK market.
